Certifications

PMI issues eight certifications. The chapter does not administer the exams — PMI does — but we help with preparation and we carry the PDUs that keep a certification alive.

    The entry point. For students and people starting out, with no requirement for years spent leading projects.

    For agile approaches, without tying itself to one methodology.

  • PgMP

    Program Management Professional

    For people running programmes — several related projects under one goal.

  • PfMP

    Portfolio Management Professional

    For portfolio management at organisational level: deciding what gets done at all, and what does not.

  • PMI-PBA

    Professional in Business Analysis

    For business analysis in a project context — requirements, scope, and the line back to the user.

  • PMI-RMP

    Risk Management Professional

    For risk management on large and complex projects.

  • PMI-SP

    Scheduling Professional

    For building and holding a schedule on complex programmes of work.

Requirements are set by PMI and change over time. Check them at pmi.org before you apply.

What the chapter does

Exams are run by PMI, through its centres and online. The chapter issues no certificates and guarantees no pass. What we do offer: study groups when there is enough interest, people who have already sat the same exam, and events that carry the PDUs needed to keep a certification current.
